We speak openly about costs

What you can always expect from us

We want you to know from the start what to expect. That is why we always discuss costs, options and alternatives openly and before beginning any treatment.

Every treatment is individual. Costs depend on the findings, the complexity and the materials chosen. The figures on this page are for orientation. Before every treatment you will receive a clear, written cost overview from us.

Statutory health insurance (GKV) — what is covered?

Statutory health insurance covers many basic dental services. These include, for example:

Check-up examinations — twice a year

Tartar removal — once a year

Basic fillings — within the scope of basic care

Dental prostheses — fixed subsidy depending on bonus booklet

However, many medically sensible services go beyond the GKV catalogue. We always explain which costs are covered by insurance — and which are not.

Our promise to you

You will always receive a clear cost overview before treatment begins.

For dental prostheses we always provide two cost estimates — from a German laboratory and from a quality-certified international laboratory.

We explain all options and respect your decision — without pressure.

Note: The figures on this page are for orientation. Actual costs always depend on individual findings, complexity and chosen material. All prices are discussed transparently before treatment begins.
Guide prices by treatment area

What does each service cost at FRYDENT?

All figures are for guidance only. Exact costs are discussed individually and documented in writing before every treatment. Patients with statutory insurance are generally entitled to a co-payment-free basic service.

Prophylaxis & teeth cleaning
ServiceCost
Tartar removal (1× yearly, GKV service)
Basic cleaning of supra-gingival tartar
GKV
Tartar removal (2nd appointment per year, self-pay)
Medically advisable — covered by insurance only 1× yearly
ca. 40 – 50 €
Professional teeth cleaning (PZR)
Complete cleaning incl. polishing and fluoridation — private service
80 – 150 €
Why do we recommend twice a year?

Health insurance covers tartar removal once a year. Medically, however, we recommend two appointments — especially with increased caries risk, a history of periodontitis or heavy plaque tendency. The second appointment is self-pay and costs approx. 40 – 50 € at our practice.

Alternatively we recommend a model combining a tartar removal appointment with a PZR appointment — for even more thorough prevention. Many supplementary insurances cover PZR and prophylaxis costs fully or partially.

Dental fillings

For posterior teeth, statutory health insurance covers a basic service (amalgam or simple composite filling) without co-payment. For higher-quality materials — especially tooth-coloured composite fillings — the additional cost is borne by the patient.

MaterialCo-payment (approx.)Durability
Nano-composite (tooth-coloured)
High-quality, tooth-coloured composite filling
40 – 160 € 5 – 10 Jahre
Gold inlay
Cast gold inlay — particularly durable
350 – 600 € 15 – 25+ Jahre
Ceramic inlay
Tooth-coloured ceramic inlay — aesthetic and precise
400 – 700 € 10 – 20+ Jahre
The co-payment depends on the size, location and complexity of the filling. We will advise you before treatment which material is best for your case.
Root canal treatment

In certain cases root canal treatment is covered by health insurance. Modern, more advanced techniques — with rubber dam, ultrasound or laser — significantly improve success rates and involve a co-payment. Costs depend on the number of canals and degree of difficulty.

TreatmentGuide price
Single-canal tooth (e.g. front tooth)
Basic root canal treatment
200 – 300 €
Two- to three-canal tooth (e.g. molar)
Depending on complexity and methods used
300 – 500 €
What affects the price?

The complexity of root canal treatment can vary greatly from case to case. Factors such as rubber dam (infection protection), ultrasonic instrumentation and laser disinfection improve the outcome — but may increase costs. All of this is always discussed and agreed with you before treatment begins.

Bleaching

Bleaching is a cosmetic service and is not covered by health insurance. We offer two methods — we advise you individually depending on your wishes and starting situation.

MethodCost
Home Bleaching
Custom trays + whitening gel for use at home
ca. 300 – 350 €
Office Bleaching
Professional whitening in the practice, immediate result
ca. 500 – 700 €
Veneers

Veneers are a purely private service. Statutory health insurance generally does not cover the costs. Only in exceptional cases (e.g. a broken front tooth) may a subsidy be possible.

Veneer typeCost per toothDurability
Ceramic veneer
Individually crafted in the laboratory, translucent like enamel
550 – 1.000 € 15 – 20 Jahre
Composite veneer
Modelled directly in the chair — affordable alternative for minor corrections
200 – 350 € 5 – 10 Jahre

Prices include dental fee (GOZ), laboratory costs and materials. The exact price depends on individual complexity and laboratory choice.

Veneer treatment can be conveniently paid in instalments through our billing centre. Detailed information can be found on our veneers patient page.
Aligners — teeth straightening

Treatment with clear aligners is a cosmetic service and is not covered by statutory health insurance. Costs depend on the extent of the correction.

TreatmentGuide price
Aligner treatment
Depending on complexity and treatment duration
2.000 – 5.000 €
Aligner treatment can be conveniently paid in instalments through our billing centre. More information in the Payment & financing tab.
Dental prostheses & laboratory

For dental prostheses — i.e. crowns, bridges or dentures — statutory health insurance provides a fixed subsidy. This depends on a regularly maintained bonus booklet. You bear the remaining co-payment — it depends on the chosen material and complexity.

Two cost estimates — always

Every patient at our practice receives two transparent cost estimates for dental prostheses:

Option 1 — German master laboratory: High craftsmanship quality, manufactured in Germany

Option 2 — Quality-certified international laboratory: Same material standards, lower manufacturing costs — often up to half the price

Both options meet high quality standards. We advise you honestly. The decision is always yours.

Payment & financing

How can you pay at our practice?

Direct payment in the practice — simple and free

You can pay your invoice directly at our practice by debit or credit card at the terminal. This option is completely free of charge and is especially recommended for smaller amounts.

Billing through our billing centre

Alternatively we bill through a dental billing centre. In this case you receive your invoice directly from the billing service provider. Additional processing fees may apply — these are usually approx. 2.9% of the invoice amount, with a minimum of approx. 10 € for smaller amounts.

This option is particularly useful when you wish to pay by instalments (see below).

Instalment payments — up to 6 months interest-free

Through our billing centre we can offer you in many cases interest-free instalments over up to 6 months — at no extra cost. Longer terms are also possible, for which interest may apply.

This is a good option especially for larger treatments such as veneers, aligners or dental prostheses. We are happy to discuss the details in person.

Payment methods summary:
Debit/credit card in the practice — free, immediate
Billing centre — approx. 2.9% fee (min. approx. 10 €), enables instalments
Interest-free instalments — up to 6 months through billing centre, no surcharge
Longer term — possible, conditions on request
Supplementary dental insurance

When is it worthwhile — and what should you know?

Supplementary dental insurance can be worthwhile in many cases — especially if you regularly use professional teeth cleaning, are planning dental prosthetics, or value high-quality filling materials. Most plans reimburse PZR costs, bleaching, and part of the dental prosthetics co-payment.

Our advice — without pressure

We know the common plans and understand which services are actually relevant in practice. Sometimes patients choose supplementary insurance that offers little for their specific needs — while important services are missing.

If you are considering taking out supplementary insurance — or want to review your existing plan — just ask us. We will look at it together and give you our honest assessment.

What do supplementary insurances commonly cover?

Professional teeth cleaning (PZR) — oft 1–2× jährlich

Prosthesis co-payment — partially or fully

High-quality fillings — co-payment for composite or inlays

Prophylaxis services — fluoridation, fissure sealing

The exact services depend on the specific plan. Not all supplementary insurances are the same — a quick comparison is worthwhile.

Tip: If you already have supplementary insurance, it is worth checking before larger treatments which costs your insurance covers. We are happy to help you ask the right questions.
If you are unsure, simply talk to us — we will explain everything calmly.
